For travellers, by travellers.

As cliché as that sounds, Shophouse was started by a couple of best friends, backpackers who couldn't travel the world (yet) and wanted to bring it to them instead. So grab us if you have a minute to spare, we all have a wanderlust tale we'd love to hear or share.

Nestled in the heart of the city.

Less than 30 minutes from Changi International Airport,  The Shophouse is located at Arab Street, a heritage area famous for its heady mix of arts, culture, dining and fashion. A 5-minute walk from Bugis MRT Station, Nicoll Highway MRT Station or Golden Mile Bus Complex, Shophouse combines affordability, comfort and convenience in a charming historical building.

Staying central has its perks. It means you're only 15 minutes away from Chinatown (by bus) or Little India (by foot). And with residential areas in our vicinity, you can count on heartland eateries and haunts for that authentic Singapore experience.

Travelling at a budget doesn't mean slumming it. Enjoy being a creature of comfort with amenities like free breakfast and Wi-Fi; chill out at our cafe or rooftop lounge; and retire for the night in our comfortable mattress and beddings.

Stay abreast of current events and festivals, as our friendly staff also share their own favourite hangouts and "makan" spots as they rate and slate the tourist traps so you don't have to.

One of Singapore's major cultural enclaves.

Also known as Singapore's Muslim Quarter, Kampong Glam has been revitalised over the years, bringing back it's former colour and vibrancy of the area. Traditional businesses like carpet and textile shops have blended in with an influx of indie cafes, local fashion boutiques and modern art galleries.
